Aiva sighed as she stared out the window. "Mom, why aren't we at the farm yet?" She asked. "I want to see the area; you know we haven't been in New York since you were a baby," her mother responded, no trace of Aiva's grandmother's thick Russian accent. It seemed even if you grew up in a house where your parents had different accents, you wouldn't get one. Or at least Aiva didn't get one. Not a French one, not a Turkish accent, nothing not even the slight bit of difference between her old classmates in Virginia. Her friends always remarked how cool her dad's accent was. "I know; I just want to see the horse though," Aiva said with a sigh.
Amidst her speaking, she noticed her mom turning the steering wheel. She looked around, quite certain that they weren't at the house. "What's this?" She asked, staring out the window to see a large what looked like an estate. It had a sign that read Starr Mountain Estate. "Well, this is the place where your horse is boarded at," her dad replied. "Wow..." she said, looking around as her mom parked the car. Aiva eagerly got out, and followed her parents into what she assumed was the office. The teenager couldn't wait to meet her horse; she hadn't been told anything other than there was an equestrian team and that she had a mare. Other than that, she knew nothing.
