APPEARANCE
[div style="background:#f3f4f0;color:#3b3a30;margin-left:20px;margin-right:20px;font:8pt arial;text-align:left;padding:7px;overflow:auto;height:80px;"]The first thing people notice about Rance, are his hazel green eyes, that seem soft and bright compared to his harsh and rugged expression. His face his well defined, with dark brown stubble, as he does not shave everyday. His skin is white, but spending long hours outside year-round gives his arms, face and neck a light sandy brown tan.
His hair is dark brown. It has a slight wave to it, but the top of his head is rarely seen thanks to his cowboy hat, which he wears religiously. He is always seen in boot cut jeans, and usually a pearl-snap western shirt. Some days, depending on the type of work, his tan leather chaps are buckled tightly around his waist. White leather gloves often protect his hands from wear and tear of his labor, but they are still calloused and rough.
Rance is roughly average, as far as height goes. He stands 6'1" with his boots on. He isn't slim, he has a nice tone to his figure, with some meat on his bones, but he by no means has a six-pack...of abs anyway.[/div]

PERSONALITY
[div style="background:#f3f4f0;color:#3b3a30;margin-left:20px;margin-right:20px;font:8pt arial;text-align:left;padding:7px;overflow:auto;height:80px;"]Being a male, perhaps Rance's personality isn't too complex. Generally speaking, Rance is a reserved, but pleasant individual. He definitely has a southern hospitality about him that attracts people. One might say, Rance never meets a stranger.
He tends to have a manly, dominant persona about him. Rance likes things done his way, or no way. This makes his relationships with women rather rocky, but, there are always plenty who want to try and tame the wild, ruthless cowboy.
Rance generally does not have a temper. In fact, he gets more complaints about not being 'caring' enough or putting enough 'effort' into relationships with people, friends, lovers etc. But it's not that the rough and tough cowboy doesn't care, he just keeps a lot of things to himself. A lot like his father. [/div]

HISTORY

Wesley Morris positioned himself on the back of the wild bronco in the chute. His hand gripped the rope tightly, and the adrenaline was pumping through his veins. It was a bigger addiction than any woman, drug, or alcohol he had ever come across. His gaze narrowed as he looked to the cowboy holding the gate, and he nodded his head. The chute sprang open.
Outskirts of Lincoln, NE. June 23rd 1981. Haven Corn Farm.
An ambulance rushed along the deserted county road with lights flashing and sirens blaring. The call had came in that Rick Haven's unwedded daughter, was currently in labor with child.
Rance spent the first five years of his life on the corn farm, with his mother and grandparents. Times were hard for his mother, she finished college, despite everyone's demeaning expectations, and became a licensed nurse.
She and Rance left the family farm, and she got a tremendous job offer in Aspen, CO at a hospital. Rance started school, and grew up in the state. When he was around eight, he asked his mother questions about his father. Not ever seeing or hearing from the man in his life. His mother tried her best to track the wandering cowboy down. But it took years.
When Rance was fifteen, he got a job on a cattle ranch during the summer, and he learned that his love for wild horses and raunchy cattle was in his blood. It was also around that time, that the World Finals Rodeo was passing through town, and Rance's mom drove him to the grounds.
"Why are we here?" he asked.
Her eyes were cold and sad, "So you can find your father," she answered.
"But, I don't know what he looks like."
"He has your last name," was all she said, "I'll pick you up in a few hours."
Rance watched at the pickup drove off, and went inside the arena. He stood against the railing, listening and watching people, horses, bulls... They got to the bronc riding events, and just as Rance was about to give up, he heard it! He heard the announcer say 'Morris'! The young ranch hand's eyes were glued to the painted pony, and middle aged cowboy that sprang out of the chute.
Rance never talked about the actual meeting with his father, or if it even took place. He finished high school and traveled on the rodeo circuit for a few years, before drifting from ranch to ranch, working with cattle, training horses, and breaking women's hearts. That's when he caught wind of a job offering at Starr Mountain.[/div]
