About us
Starr Mountain Estate is New York's very own home for quality Friesian horses. We breed our own foals and also import horses from across the sea. But that's not all!
Not only do we breed, train, and sell Friesian horses, we also offer riding lessons, summer camps, and more! While we specialize in Friesians, we also care for several other breeds, including ponies, warmbloods, and drafts.
Our History
It all started in Scotland. The owner, Aiden Valentine, was on holiday in the beautiful country when he met the love of his life; a beautiful black mare. He called the owners to offer a price, and he met the second love of his life; the late Blair Starr. They moved with their horses to New York and were married. They had three children: Nickolas, the eldest, and the twins, Andrea and Chase. Unfortunately, not long after the twins were born, Blair passed away.
To honor her memory, Aiden renamed their small farm Starr Mountain Estate. Over the years, it has grown. They host competitions, winter and summer camps, and offer lessons year-round. From dressage to trail riding, we have it all!
All this in honor of Blair Starr-Valentine, who believed that every single human being should be able to ride a horse at least once in their lives.
